Overeating is not about hunger or the love of food.
If it was, you wouldn't eat when you're not hungry.
Wouldn't it be a relief to finally have an approach that targets what the compulsion to overeat actually IS about? (hint: it's not about the food). I mean, what if at last there really is an opportunity to reduce or eliminate overeating?
With Judy's unique process, people begin to lose interest in binging and overeating. It's not that you never eat your favorite food again, but rather you begin to discover of a place of neutral around food. Participants have found that they can eat or not eat- there's just no longer a "HAVE to eat".
Working with Judy, people start to see that the urgent call to act or grab something outside of oneself, seems to fill a sense of lack and emptiness. and that keeps their focus locked on themselves and what's wrong with themselves and their world. That's why as an added bonus, sometimes people discover that other compulsions in other areas of their lives may also fall away. And a sense of peace and well-being may replace the shame and guilt that overeating so often creates.
And then as the course continues, it often becomes clear that deep down, many people are secretly afraid of life without overeating.
They may say things like, "But what will I do for pleasure? I deserve to have fun too. I don't want to be without my favorite foods or enjoying myself forever. I need a reward. I need a break. I need comfort. Don't take this away from me."
Naturally if one is afraid of deprivation forever, one mighty begin to sabotage any success.
That's why during the course of working with Judy, unnoticed fear of actually quitting is also thoroughly addressed, so that underlying self-sabotage can be let go, also.
